After a summer plagued with bad weather and delays, we finally have our Club Champions for 2012. The finals were played at Parklands on Saturday in somewhat windy conditions on the morning, but with blue skies and plenty of sunshine. Both the Men's and the Ladies finals are decided with 36 holes of matchplay. The morning sessions were closely contested and at the break, Rod Armstrong was 1 up against George Stott and Candy Paige-Brown was 1 up against Gill Davison. The green staff moved the pin positions for the afternoon session and they were demanding to say the least. The Men's match saw Rod winning with a 4 and 3 score and Candy won 2 and 1 in a very close finish. So congratulations to our new Champions and commiseration to the runners-up. Thanks also to the members who supported either as caddies, referees or supporters.
