It was finals day of the Club Championship today, and we could not have asked for better weather or for better golf. The Men's Championship was first to get underway at 7.30am between last year's defending champion, Rod Armstrong and our scratch golfer, Karl Mossom. Scheduled for 36 holes the match finished with a convincing win for Karl who was in Rod's words " a different class". Well done Karl. The Ladies Club Championship was a re-run of last year's final with the defending champion, Candy Brown playing Gill Davison, again over 36 holes. The morning session ended all square and the afternoon session was equally as close with the match being settled on the 36th hole with Candy sinking the final put for a very narrow win. Well done Candy. The Ladies Bronze Championship was settled in the morning session over 18 holes and again it was a very close match with Denise Swindlehurst pipping Sarah Howson on the 18th green. Well done Denise. And the remaining final was the Men's Seniors Handicap, a morning match over 18 holes. The match was between Bob Hunter and John Baty and the result was a win for John Baty. Well done John. Congratulations to all the winners and comisserations to the beaten finalists. Thanks go to the referees, the starter, the supporters who turned up to watch and to the caddies.
