Club Championship Ladies
Sunday 13th July saw the rearranged Ladies Club Championship finals start in a downpour following overnight rain. However, the course held out well and the Bronze Championship (handicaps 21 – 36) was a very close affair ending on the 19th hole with a win for Maureen Jenkins against Deborah Welch. Well done to both players for an exciting contest.
In the Ladies Club Championship (played off scratch over 36 holes), Candy Paige-Brown, the defending Champion, was playing the up and coming Sarah Howson. The morning match started with a close contest with the tie all square at the 13th. By the end of morning session Candy had a 3 hole lead and the afternoon session brought some exciting golf from both players before Candy won on the 12th. Well done ladies and thanks to the few members who braved the morning rain to support the players.
