The excellent venue for the latest NERGA event for the Parklands Inter team was Houghton Le Spring on Saturday 18 June 16. Stocksfield won their second event of the season while Parklands finished 4th, their 3rd fourth place in a row, which means that Parklands slipped a place in the league down to 4th, 5 points behind the joint league leaders who are Roseberry Grange and Stocksfield.
Top scorer for Parklands was Ian McPhillips with 37 points, which equalled the best score in the whole event, but he lost out on the free 4-ball voucher on countback. There were also steady performances from Dicky Rutherford, Keith Gill, John Raisbeck and Iwan Owen who all scored above average and thus retain their place for the next event which is our home event on Sunday 3/7/16, where a good performance is expected with home course advantage.
In the Race to Rockcliffe, for the NERGA Inter Individual championship, the current leader is Ian McPhillips with an average of 33.3 points per event, but Iwan Owen (32), Dicky Rutherford (31) and Andy Bolton (30) are close on his heels and will be pushing hard to overtake him in the remaining 2 fixtures.
