Today was the day for the re-arranged final for the Men’s Club Championship and the two finalists teed off this morning in sunny, but windy conditions. It was a contest between the defending champion, Karl Mossom and Paul Shanks; team mates for most of the season, but opponents today. The match was refereed by the Men’s Captain, Gavin Jobe. The morning session was a close affair with some challenging pin positions and some blustery cross winds; and at the end of 18 holes Karl was 1 up. After a short interval for lunch, the match resumed with Karl taking an early lead over the first half dozen holes and establishing a lead which Paul was unable to close. Karl successfully defended his championship. Congratulations to both players for a super contest played in excellent sporting conditions.
