NERGA – Intermediate League (hcp 10 – 15)

rabbits logoHave you ever fancied playing mens’ team golf but your handicap is too high to get into the Parklands Hadrian League team or is too low to play for the Rabbits, well halleluja …. there is a new league formed this season where you can play for the Parklands team in the INTER league of the North East Rabbits Golf League. Other clubs in our division include Wearside, Richmond, Hobson, Crook, Blackwell Grange and Stocksfield. To qualify, you must have a handicap of 10 to 15.

Each team has eight players and the best seven stableford scores, playing off full handicap, are added together for a team total, while the lowest score is disregarded. The team with the most points on the day is given seven points, second team, six, third team, five, and so on. Cost is a bargain £10 a round; we play in three balls with players from other clubs and scores are automatically fed back to home clubs for handicap adjustments.

A notice is currently on the Rabbit’s board asking for expressions of interest from members interested in playing for the intermediates. Once it has been established who is interested a meeting will be organised at the club before the new season to iron out any selection or travel queries. Looking at the fixture list, all but one is on a Sunday. It would be possible to play in our club competitions and play for the team in the afternoon, if you can get an early tee time.In addition, Parklands team members will be issued with a t-shirt for a small fee, although if we can find a sponsor the cost will be significantly cheaper.

For further information contact: Craig Stewart or Bill Sidney, while other details can be found on the NERGA website
